Fellow Members,

The Highland Park Community League unanimously endorsed a slate of candidates for Town Council for the May 2nd Municipal Election. Running for Mayor is incumbent Mayor Will C. Beecherl. Running for their current seats are incumbents Mayor Pro Tem Don Snell, Alan Friedman, and Leland White. New candidates added to the League’s slate are Margaret Keliher and Michael (Mike)Tibbals.

Current Council members stepping down are Lydia Novakov and Marc Myers. Their service and contributions to the Town are greatly appreciated.

Margaret Keliher, a practicing attorney, is currently the  Chair of the HP Planning and Zoning Committee having served in that role since 2018. She previously served as Judge of the 44thState Civil District Court and as Dallas County Judge. She is a 68-year resident of Highland Park.

Mike Tibbals is a practicing attorney and currently serves on the HP Planning and Zoning Committee.  He has served as president of the Park Cities Preservation Society. He has been a resident of Highland Park for 35 years.

We feel strongly about this slate. Our members can be proud these residents have agreed to serve. All our endorsed candidates have demonstrated deep understanding of and commitment to Highland Park. They represent the excellence and continuity that are a hallmark of Town governance. We are confident in their candidacy. We will work tirelessly to get them elected.

The Municipal election is May 2, 2026. Early voting dates are April 20-28, 2026.

League members will soon be hearing about how they can help get the slate elected.

Thank you,
